Dancing in the park...
In one part of the dance they paired up and pretended to be walking around drunk. At least this was my interpretation. I was cracking up!
My pictures never do the Andes justice...
My purchases from the market! Can you spot the rings?
My new room...$5. Bathroom is definately not that great...

Hostal Numero Dos
Sitting on the patio enjoying the view of the Andes!
El calle de mi Hostal
At the market! She was really nice in person...I swear! It took a long time to show her friend how to use the camera though. So, I think her smile was lost in a way similar to when people used to pose for oil paintings
Bought a great silver ring here...

I decided to go check out the artisan markets that they have on the weekends in the central park in Quito. If I´m going to be in South America, I am going to have to hone my bartering skills! I was definately a little shy at first, but a pro by the end. I have a system...it goes something like this:
Artisan: Come look, very beautiful, very cheap. Hand made.
Me: Ahhhh! Me Gusto! Este es muy BONITA! (so now they think I am hooked) How much does it cost "Cuanto Cuesta?"
Artisan: 13 dollars
Me: Ohhhh. No Gracias. Puede tomar nueve? (can you take 9?)
Artisan: No Puedo. Diez (10)...
Me: Hmmmm. "Tengo que pensar" ("I have to think"...Cue my pretend exit)
Artisan: OK. 8
This seemed to work everytime. Wow! I was feeling really proud of myself. And just as my head started getting bigger...
I passed another market on the walk home with the same things for 1/4 the price.
Oh well. Cue head shrinking back to size.
