But first, some pictures of Chiclayo. A very bustling and commercial city, with men on the street buying and selling dollars for Soles on every corner! There were also some great restaurants and a HUGE central market!
While I was wandering the streets of this busy city, I suddenly heard my name being called out! It was a cute couple from Lima on their honeymoon that I had met on the bus when I first came into Peru. What are the chances that days later we ended up in the same city on the same street at the same time?! Crazy! I really liked them and we had a fun two days in Chiclayo, with plans to meet up again when I go to Lima...Rosa and I at lunch. They took me to all the traditional Peruvian restaurants!

The next day, we were off to the Museum.

I won´t go into all the details of the Tombs of Saipan, but I will say that I am amazed with the amout of people that had to be killed when one famous man died. They believed your life continued after death and that you need everything stored in your tomb that you need for the afterlife. This meant one of your kids, your wives (yes, plural), dog, llamas, a warrior, a guy to guard the tomb (whose feet were cut off just to make sure he didn´t get up and abandon his job of guarding the dead), and many others! All sacrificed and buried with SeƱor Saipan.
After the museum another FABULOUS lunch with Rosa and Arturo. It pays to hang with the locals, they know all the best spots!

We also met up later that night for dinner at a humongous Polleria (rotisserie chicken restaurant) and then for drinks and dancing...
The cute couple!
Happy Birthday Arturo!! ( By the way, this cake is called Tres Leches. It is life changing.)

Just as I took this picture of the chicken feet, this little boy came running by crying!
